The Unfulfilled Life

A while back, a couple of friends were going on and on and on and on about how much they love Colin Firth. Foolishly, I asked, ‘Who dat?’

At that point, I realized that I likely disgusted these friends of mine, so I have drawn a list of movies that I probably need to see at some point, lest I die alone in friendlessness.

1. Pretty in Pink. Sorry. I know what it’s all about. Just haven’t gotten around to watching it…
2. Sixteen Candles. Anthony Michael Hall and that same redhead from Pretty in Pink, right? I’ll get right on it.
3. Pretty Woman. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. I’m pretty sure I’d rather die in friendlessness.
4. Swingers. Okay, this is a mistake. I really will eventually watch this one.
5. 4 Weddings and a Funeral. Riiiiight.
6. When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle or You’ve Got Mail.
7. Office Space (I saw most of it, I think. I just don’t know how it ends. It did eventually end, right? The way people talk about it, you’d think it was still playing.)
8. A single Barbara Streisand movie. Not even Yentl. Or Meet the Fokkers.
9. A single Woody Allen film. But I love Woody Allen films.
10. Do the Right Thing.

Special Cases
11. Legally Blonde. I actually saw Legally Blonde II on an airplane. Good enough for me, in my book.
12. Wayne’s World. I actually saw Wayne’s World II on an airplane. Good enough for me, in my book.
13. Fast and the Furious. I actually saw 2 Fast 2 Furious on an airplane. Good enough for me, in my book.

Recent movies that I may see. Though I really doubt it.
14. The Aviator. Okay, I’m pretty sure I will never see this.
15. Sideways. It’s the wine movie, right?
16. Million Dollar Baby. Alex told me she dies, so I’m not sure why I should bother.
17. Napoleon Dynamite. I’ll do my best to see this, but no promises. It cannot possibly live up to the hype at this point.
18. Revenge of the Sith. This weekend, baby. It will be the first, and probably only movie I see at the theater this year.
