More, Katrina

Ugh. I have to admit that I turned on the television last night for the first time, and the phrase that I keep hearing that saddens me above all else right now is 'shoot to kill.' Must turn off tv now.

In addition to Amanda, other emigos/emigas have been touched by the storm and need help, as well:

Kate's family is need.

Claypot's friend Lisa is in need.

In the past 6 months, I've been happy to give to several causes, and I'm happy to do so now. It feels good, like little pinches, but for some reason it's embarrassing to talk about. When I first wrote this post, I said that I would match the first $X for whomever pledged to send money to any of the folks above. But it feels, I don't know, either like I'm touting my own giving or I'm not giving enough.

Somebody out there has got to have the secret to charitable giving. I'm a grant writer, damn it, not a fundraiser.

Screw it. I'll match the first $100 pledged to Amanda, and the first $50 to either Kate or Lisa.

Shoot to kill, my ass.
