Song Meme

Jamie asked me to respond to this meme, and though I suck at memes, I promised her I’d do my best.

1. Total amount of music files on your computer:

Wait a second, is this meme being distributed by the record companies? Cause my answer is NONE, I ain’t never downloaded a song, and I think mp3s should be outlawed. I think Napster is the communist anti-christ. I miss the days when record producers took 98% of all royalties and smoked fat cigars and said things like, ‘What young’uns these days needs is a little white-boy gospel.’

So in conclusion, there are no music files on my computer. Just porn. A lot of filthy violent politically incorrect racially insensitive poorly filmed pornography. But no music. I’ve got standards, music industry.

2. The last CD you bought was:

Lord, I don’t buy CDs. Oooh, wait! I bought Deni Bonet’s CD, and listen to it all the time. Please buy it. Deni is cool and played with Sarah McLachlan, who is the woman I love when Alex isn’t looking.

Alex: ‘Vy do you put pillow over my head ven you love me? Are you theenking about Sarah McLachlan again?’

Me: ‘No! Heavens no! I’ve got a cold and I don’t want you to catch it. Ah-choo. Ohhhrhhh…’

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?

Head On by the Jesus and Mary Chain (but I swear Journey was on before that, I’m just being honest). Head On was just a great way to close out the 80s.

4. Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you:

Danny’s Song by Loggins and Messina – Because when my son was born in 1998, my wife and I didn’t have no money, but we were sooo in love with each other (honey) and every morning when I would rise, it brought some mother fuckin tears to my eyes to see that beautiful woman and my boy on our second hand couch in some hand me down clothes.

Coldplay – The Scientist. Because I swear to god I uttered these words to Alex long before Coldplay came onto the scene. Come up to meet you. Tell you I’m sorry. You don’t know how lovely you are. I have to find you. Tell you I need you. Tell you I set you apart.

Path of Thorns – Sarah McLachlan. Ohhhrhhh.

Looking for Love – Johnny Lee. It’s the first song I remember hearing on the radio and as I recall the first song I skated backwards to with my 2nd grade girlfriend at the skating rink. Being able to skate backwards while your girl held your hands was a big, big deal in 1981. I get dizzy and fall on my ass each time I hear this song.

Sullen Girl – Fiona Apple. Actually, I don’t listen to this song that often because it breaks my heart a little each time. It’s calm under the waves in the blue of my oblivion…

5. Who are you going to pass this stick to? (3 persons) and why?

Michael McDonald – Because I think he’s alive, but I haven’t heard from him in awhile.
JD Salinger – Because I think he’s alive, and I think he’d be real popular if he had a blog.
Olivia Hussey – Because even in old age she’s still the most beautiful woman in the world. And I saw her boobies. And I’d like to see them again.

Does anyone have their email addresses?
